Public service hilarity
If you can't change underage sex hysteria, you may as well sit back and laugh at its ridiculousness. The public service announcements coming out of it are good material for that. First there was Virginia's "It doesn't feel right when I see them together" campaign urging people to report fathers holding their daughters' hands. Hot on its heels, there is now the "Just because she has the body, doesn't mean she has the brains" campaign (more here and here) informing people that 9-year-olds don't have brains and that while it's true that they have the hot bodies of a twenty-year-old, you shouldn't sleep with them. This campaign may be in response to recent research finding that the leading cause of paedophilia is sexy kids.
